The Raid Essentials® Bed Bug Detector and Trap lets you quickly know if bed bugs are present, so you can treat them quickly without the use of insecticides. To proactively detect them at home or in a hotel, you should place the detectors where bed bugs like to hide: on the floor at the foot of a bed or sofa, under the box spring or on the top of the mattress, between the headboard and the wall. This is because bed bugs seek out dark places, like the detector, to hide during the day before emerging at night to feed. Upon entering the detector, bed bugs will stick to the adhesive inside. To dispose of the trap, wrap it in a sealed plastic bag and dispose of it in an outdoor trash can. Even if you find only one bed bug, begin a treatment program immediately.
