Its little red bottle has become iconic and can be found on tables around the world. Since its creation by Edmund McIlhenny in 1868 on Avery Island, Louisiana, the brand has always maintained its authenticity. The recipe for TABASCO® Red has remained unchanged since its creation: red chili peppers, vinegar, and salt—just three ingredients! TABASCO® is, above all, the story of a family, the McIlhennys, who guarantee the brand's longevity. For 5 generations, or 150 years, this family has maintained and shared its passion for its land, Avery Island, but also for know-how rooted in tradition and respect.
