Responsible tea! 100% of Lipton green tea is sustainably sourced, grown on Rainforest Alliance certified plantations. This means that all of our producers are committed to: - Protecting biodiversity and natural resources - Improving the quality of life of pickers & their families - Optimizing the economic viability of farms Here are some examples of what we have implemented in our Lipton plantation in Kericho, Kenya², the first Rainforest Alliance certified plantation, since 2007: - More than 96% of the energy used comes from renewable energy - 23 schools and 50 daycare centers for the children of our workers and surrounding communities have been built - We have helped nearly 500,000 small farmers improve their techniques in order to obtain Rainforest Alliance certification. ²Some Lipton tea recipes are made with tea leaves that come in part or entirely from other plantations around the world, all Rainforest Alliance verified, to offer teas with varied tastes. Our History: When Sir Thomas Lipton founded his company in the late 19th century, he purchased his first tea plantation in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). More than a hundred years later, Lipton owns thousands of hectares of quality tea bushes in East Africa. Built on over a century of experience in tea growing and blending, Lipton has retained Sir Thomas's love of innovation and excellence. Lipton is based on solid values inspired by its founder Sir Thomas Lipton: naturalness, optimism, and dynamism.
